Sløret for Assassin's Creed Shadows til Switch 2 blev løftet i slutningen af oktober, og nu er tiden så kommet til, at spillet er udgivet på konsollen. Spillet udkom oprindeligt i marts måned på andre platforme, men er nu altså klar til Switch 2, hvor det kan købes på eShop for 449 kr. - det fås dog også fysisk. Udgivelsen kommer med flere af de DLC-udvidelser, spillet allerede har modtaget, og er du allerede i gang med spillet andre steder, kan du bære dine fremskridt over på Switch 2.

Jeg tror jeg ville foretrække at spillet der her spil på min PC - og eftersom det er et Samurai/Ninja/Gamle Japan-spil, så er jeg interesseret. Men hold kæft hvor er det endnu et imponerende port fra Ubisoft det her. Content paritet med PS5/XBOX Series/PC, samt ingen nævneværdig afskæring af grafiske elementer, blot en nedgradering af grafik og nedjustering af skygger, foliage og hvad man ellers plejer at skrue ned for. Hvor er det vildt at vi kan spille de her spil på Switch 2!

Ja, jeg overvejer nu også at vende tilbage til Assassin's Creed-spillene udelukkende pga. ninja/samurai-elementet. Det ser nu ret fedt ud.

Digital Foundry er kommet med deres tech-analyse:– Switch 2 inherits Xbox Series S graphical compromises, and has further cuts
– No screen space reflections; sky-tinged reflections instead
– Water surface doesn’t react to player movement
– Overall environmental density takes a hit; things like little bushes and grasses are removed
– This has the largest impact at close to mid distance while faraway views are more comparable
– Trees tend to lod down a little more aggressively as well
– Virtualized geometry system appears to be retained
– Grasses can look a bit chunkier and less refined; more subdued animation
– Fewer obvious wind direction changes
– Seems to have some occasional clipping on player clothing not present on Xbox Series S
– Other cuts for texture resolution, shadows, pop-in, degraded cutscenes, depth-of-field, other feature level deficits from Xbox Series S
– Despite these changes, Switch 2 lands reasonably close to Xbox Series S
– Switch 2 file size just under half of the Xbox Series S version
– Switch 2 sometimes has a cleaner presentation than Xbox Series S for resolution
– Docked resolution is about 648p on average, but DLSS bumps that up
– Game targets 30 FPS and tends to hold this well
– Issue with frame pacing
– There are also some frame rate dips, particularly in Kyoto and other instances like combat instances
– More cuts made for handheld play such as higher pop-in and softer resolution
– Handheld resolution seems to be around 480p before DLSS increases that figure
– Performance seems to be better in portable mode, partially because of VRR support
